MW4 DMZ / FIELD NOTES

MW4 DMZ ingredient locations: every Rare, Epic and Legendary ingredient on one map

The 3D printer tells you roughly where each ingredient lives and then leaves you to work out the rest. We have put all 20 Rare, Epic and Legendary ingredients on our Hajin map as three layers you can switch on one rarity at a time. The game's own hint areas are dashed rings, and what players actually found are small solid ones. COD Central's field reports are credited by name, and we say plainly where we have nothing to show. We have not played any of it ourselves.

Verify these notes against your current build before you rely on them.

The short version

The 3D printer has an Ingredient Locations hint that names places for each ingredient. It comes in pairs: a Rare ingredient and the Epic one it feeds share a hint, and 3 Rare plus 100 of a base resource print 1 Epic. We mapped those pairs as dashed rings with one marker per rarity, so you can switch Rare and Epic on and off separately. A Rare ingredient is worth $500. The two Epic ingredients we have seen priced, Turned Components and Volatile Explosives, are worth $1,500. Legendary ingredients come from Commanders, apart from one Experimental Compounds that COD Central reports loose on a road. It is worth $3,500. We left the seven Uncommon ingredients off the map: Biomaterials, Control Unit, Detonators, Electronic Sensors, Reactive Metals, Rigid Synthetics and Regional Combat Notes. The game's hint for them says any container, so there is no place to draw. Our 3D printer farming guide lists them in its ingredient finder.

The map and how to read it

Open the Hajin map with the three ingredient layers on. In the sidebar, under Farming, Rare is blue, Epic purple and Legendary gold, and each has its own checkbox, so switching off Epic hides only the Epic markers. The search box finds an ingredient or a rarity, so Stock Rod and Epic both work. A dashed ring is the game's hint: an area centred on the place it names. A small solid ring is a field report: someone found that ingredient at that place, and the card says in which container and who reported it. Where a Rare and an Epic share a place their badges sit side by side, so both stay visible. The Commanders layer is on in the link below because the three Commander-only Legendary ingredients belong to it. The precision is limited, and we would rather say so. The hint rings are areas taken from the game's own text, not spawn points. The reports are place level, from COD Central (21 to 24 October 2026), Schlayer, Eakr and TheSpazo. Containers are random, and a ring can be off by a building. Nothing here was played by us, and the North Korean Wilderness find has no pin because we cannot place it.

Epic ingredients

Eight Epic ingredients. Each shares its hint with the Rare one that feeds it, so its rings sit in the same places. Printing them needs the Epic Ingredient Printing upgrade, covered further down. Most have no field report at all, and the card says so.

Alloyed Plating

Epic, value not recorded

Game hint: Chang-san Air Base hangar and repair bay; Bubun Yard (not on our map). No field report yet, so this one rests on the game's hint alone. Printed from 3 Structural Alloy + 100 Metals once the Epic Ingredient Printing upgrade is bought.

Ballistic Fabric

Epic, value not recorded

Game hint: Chang-san Air Base armory and barracks; La Grande Vie rooftop, Songdo Wharf. No field report yet, so this one rests on the game's hint alone. Printed from 3 High-Tenacity Fibers + 100 Synthetics once the Epic Ingredient Printing upgrade is bought.

Comms Module

Epic, value not recorded

A close-up of Chang-san Air Base on the Hajin map: one large dashed ring in blue and purple for the game's hint, and two small solid blue rings for the Binding Catalyst and Printed Circuit Board field reports at the chemical storage and the bunker door.
Base map: Activision Hajin Tac Map, Official skin. Rings: Wing Mait. The bunker lies under Admin Complex No. 2 and is not placed, so its ring sits on the bunker access card door.

Legendary ingredients

Four Legendary ingredients. Military Composites, Prototype RF Module and Nano-Structured Alloy drop only from Commanders, so they have no ring of their own: the Commanders layer shows where people have met Colossus, Deathstalker and Tank. Experimental Compounds is occasionally on a Commander, and COD Central reports one loose on a road at Imjin Farmland, which is the single Legendary ring. Our 3D printer farming guide has a section for each Commander.

Military Composites

Legendary, $3,500 (listed by another database)

Game hint: Colossus. It drops from the Commander Colossus. The Commanders layer shows the places people have met him. No field report away from a Commander.

Prototype RF Module

Legendary, value not recorded

Game hint: Deathstalker. It drops from the Commander Deathstalker, in the wreck containers. The Commanders layer shows where people have met it. No field report away from a Commander.

Nano-Structured Alloy

Legendary, value not recorded

Game hint: Tank. Community sites list it as a drop from the Commander Tank. TheSpazo's Tank wreck showed no such card when we read it. No field report away from a Commander.

Experimental Compounds

Legendary, $3,500

Game hint: occasionally on Commanders. Colossus sometimes drops it. COD Central reports one loose on the road at Imjin Farmland, which is the single Legendary ring on the map. Field report: Imjin Farmland (loose on the road, COD Central).

Ingredient Printing upgrades

The printer needs two upgrades before it makes ingredients. Both costs below come from COD Central's screenshots of the upgrade screens. We have not bought either. The catch is Comms Module. The Uncommon upgrade asks for five of them, and you cannot print one until the Epic upgrade is bought, so the first five have to be found, in server rooms or on the Deadtown hillside. Our reading is that the Epic upgrade asks for five Military Composites, which only Colossus drops, so Colossus has to fall before the first Epic prints. One money note. COD Central says the bank starts capped at $100,000 and that Bank Upgrade I raises the cap to $250,000 for $20,000. We have not tested it. If that cap is right, the Epic upgrade costs exactly what the bank can hold.

Questions people ask

Quick answers about MW4 DMZ ingredient locations.

Where do I find Comms Modules in MW4 DMZ?

The game's hint names the Nenshin Tech Complex server rooms, the Cheonwang Peak Array server rooms and the Deadtown hillside facade buildings. Eakr found them in PCs on the hillside, usually on second floors. The Uncommon Ingredient Printing upgrade needs five.

Which ingredients are Rare, Epic and Legendary?

Rare: Binding Catalyst, CPU, High-Tenacity Fibers, Nitro Compounds, Nylon Cloth, Printed Circuit Board, Stock Rod and Structural Alloy. Epic: Alloyed Plating, Ballistic Fabric, Comms Module, Nylon Laminate, Power Regulator, Stabilized Reagents, Turned Components and Volatile Explosives. Legendary: Experimental Compounds, Military Composites, Nano-Structured Alloy and Prototype RF Module.

How many Rare ingredients make an Epic one?

Three, plus 100 of a base resource, once the Epic Ingredient Printing upgrade is bought for $100,000.

Why are the Uncommon ingredients not on the map?

The game's hint for them says any container, so there is no place to draw. They are in the ingredient finder of our 3D printer farming guide.

Are the rings exact spawn points?

No. A dashed ring is an area from the game's hint, and a small solid ring is a place where someone found the ingredient. Containers are random, and we have not played any of this ourselves.

Did the 28 October update change any ingredient location?

The notes do not mention it. We say not mentioned and not unchanged, because the notes list only what Infinity Ward chose to list.

Where are Bubun Yard and Namjjog Station?

We have not placed either yet. Both are in the game's hint, so they stay in the text and off the map.

Where do I get Military Composites?

From Colossus. The Commanders layer shows where people have met him, and our 3D printer farming guide has the fight notes.
