MW4 DMZ / FIELD NOTES
MW4 DMZ 3D printer farming: ingredient spots, two field runs and the three Commanders
The 3D printer is only as good as what you carry into it. Two creators posted farming runs this week, Schlayer at Cheonwang Peak Array and Eakr at the Deadtown hillside, and we have put both on our Hajin map next to every ingredient spot the printer's own hint names and the areas where Colossus, Tank and Deathstalker have been reported. Schlayer's run is embedded just below and Eakr's sits in its own section, so please watch them both. This page is the organised companion. The runs are theirs and we have not tested them.

What to farm, and where
In Modern Warfare 4 DMZ the 3D printer turns base resources into gear, but its best recipes also want named ingredients that you only get by looting the right place. This page is the farming side of our 3D printer recipes guide: where each ingredient is, two runs that creators have walked on camera, and the roaming bosses that drop the high-tier parts. The split is simple. Rare and Epic ingredients come from places: server rooms, hospital wings, hangars. The finder below lists them with the game's own hint for each one. The Legendary ingredients are different. They come from Commanders, the roaming bosses that sit above the Lieutenants, so those are covered by boss rather than by place. Everything is pinned on our map as three layers you can switch on.
Run 1: Cheonwang Peak Array, three safes and a tech block
Schlayer starts at Cheonwang Peak Array, close to the middle of the map and shown as Medium threat on his HUD. He calls it a small compound-like site that not many people visit, and he loots three buildings for a safe each. He says there are three safes every game. That is his claim and we have not tested it. The buildings are also full of server racks, which is where the tech comes from: CPUs, Control Units, Electronic Sensors, metals and a Power Regulator. His tip is to look up and down at a rack until the loot icon shows. When the three safes are done he drives to Compound Alpha and Compound Bravo, finds both already looted, and extracts with $47,700, 13 valuables, 1 key, 23 printer ingredients, 145 printer resources and 1 weapon manual.

The Peak Array route, step by step
Timestamps are from Schlayer's video. Every claim in the right-hand column is what he says or what we saw on screen, not something we have confirmed in our own raids.
| Time | Step | What he gets or says |
|---|---|---|
| 1:10-1:25 | Safe 1: enter from the back side. The safe is in the first room inside. | A safe. He says it is there every game. |
| 2:00-2:16 | Same building, downstairs and the front door, then the bag at the front. | Small computers and a jacket. He says the bag nearly always holds a gun; his was green-tier. |
| 2:36-3:20 | Safe 2: the second building, fourth floor. He says it is on the fourth floor every game. | A Shopping DRC Locker key and a Comms Module (3:07-3:20). |
| 4:05 | A room in the same building is behind a key door. | He points out a room behind a key door. |
| 5:26 | Server racks on every floor. | CPUs, Control Units, Electronic Sensors, metals and a Power Regulator. |
| 6:01-6:38 | Safe 3: the little L building in the middle. The ground floor is poor, so go to the top beside the lockers. | A PPSh-41 Weapon Manual and an Encrypted Archive. |
| 7:16 | A warning, not a fight: "Sometimes there's also a Colossus here." | See the Colossus section below. |
| 7:24-7:27 | An Aston Martin is parked nearby. | He drives to the compounds. |
| 8:00, 8:32 | Compound Alpha, then Compound Bravo. | Both already looted. At Alpha he killed the operator who had the safe. |
| 8:48 | Extraction. | $47,700, 13 valuables, 1 key, 23 printer ingredients, 145 printer resources, 1 weapon manual. |
Run 2: the Deadtown hillside, six buildings for Comms Modules
Eakr's video is 86 seconds long and has one idea: the Comms Module, an Epic ingredient that the Uncommon Ingredient Printing upgrade asks five of, is easiest to find on the Deadtown hillside in the south-west of Hajin. The hillside is six buildings you can loot in one go (0:19-0:23). He says to take the nearest UAV tower first so you can see where the real players are (0:28-0:40). Comms Modules sit in PCs, usually on the second floors, and on counters and desks (0:41-0:49). The same buildings give CPUs, Detonators and Printed Circuit Boards (0:52-0:56), and he opens a Basic Weapons Locker for an Ultra Han 86 assault rifle (about 1:00-1:02). He says the spawns are not guaranteed, but six buildings in a row raise your odds (1:06-1:14). The printer's own hint also names the Deadtown hillside facade buildings for the Comms Module and the CPU, so that part is not only his word.

How To Quickly Find COMM MODULES & ALL PC PARTS in MW4 DMZ! (Modern Warfare 4) BEST MODULE FARM SPOT

Ingredient finder
Search by ingredient, rarity, place or recipe. The Where column is the game's own wording from the 3D printer's Ingredient Locations hint, as three community sites transcribed it and agree. The Print column is what the printer asks for. Where a place is named, the same place is an area ring on our map. The four base resources, Synthetics, Electronics, Chemicals and Metals, come from homes, gas stations and the server racks at Peak Array. Chang-san Air Base covers about ten Rare and Epic ingredients, but it runs Critical to Extreme, and the bunker is Extreme.
No ingredient matches that search.
| Ingredient | Rarity | Where | Note | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Military Composites | Legendary | Colossus | No printer recipe listed | Commander only. |
| Prototype RF Module | Legendary | Deathstalker wreck | No printer recipe listed | Commander only. Tied to the Fulton Drop Marker and the Large Secure Backpack. |
| Experimental Compounds | Legendary | Any Commander, occasionally | No printer recipe listed | Worth $3,500. One loose find was reported on an Imjin Farmland road. |

Commanders: where the Legendary parts come from
Commanders are roaming bosses that outrank the Lieutenants. When one is near, it shows on the Tac Map and your Team Leader warns you. You cannot buy intel on them. Each one pays $50,000 for the first kill through the Commanders tab of the Boss Board, and the ingredients only count if you extract with them. Since the 20 October Early Access patch the whole squad gets the kill XP and the card progress. We pin the areas people have reported, as dashed rings. They roam, so a ring means someone met one there, not that it will be there. Our bosses guide has the full fight notes, including the corrections we made to the early rumours about Colossus.
| Commander | Reported areas | Drops | How people beat it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Colossus | The Citadel, Chang-san Air Base bunker and armory, Cheonwang Peak Array gate, Cheongun Village, Songdo Wharf | Military Composites, sometimes Experimental Compounds | Hard cover and an exit route. |
| Tank | NuriGO Mall | Nano-Structured Alloy | Break line of sight with buildings, bring launchers and ammo, agree a retreat. |
| Deathstalker | DBN Headquarters, NuriGO Mall, NuriGO West, The Grid, Compound Delta, Cheongun Village | Prototype RF Module, Biomaterials, Printed Circuit Board, Volatile Explosives | Hold a nearby SAM site, or sustained fire from cover. |
Colossus
Colossus is an armoured soldier with a belt-fed minigun mounted to his armour. He roams, and the places people report him are The Citadel, the Chang-san Air Base bunker and armory during Operation Iron Citadel, the Cheonwang Peak Array gate, Cheongun Village and Songdo Wharf. Schlayer says he is sometimes at Peak Array. One site also lists the North Korean Wilderness, which we have not placed on the map. People who have beaten him talk about hard cover and an exit route. Some sites say he resists explosives, others dispute it, so do not plan around it. He drops Military Composites and sometimes Experimental Compounds, which is not guaranteed. One High-Tenacity Fibers was recorded on a kill, and one run reports an Ultra Volt-Edge marksman rifle. We treat that rifle as a single report.
Tank
The Tank is the Main NK Battle Tank, and it roams too. NuriGO Mall is the reported area. Its main gun one-shots vehicles and the top machine gun handles infantry. Reactive armour reduces rocket damage, going by the developer preview. People break line of sight with buildings, bring launchers and plenty of ammo, and agree a retreat before they start. It drops Nano-Structured Alloy. Search the wreck from every side: it gives several interaction prompts, and the community says it has three compartments. We have not verified that. TheSpazo's solo kill, with the Impact Warhead he credits and the loot we read in his wreck, is in our solo Tank guide; he met the Tank at the Construction Zone, not NuriGO Mall.
Deathstalker
Deathstalker is a helicopter-sized autonomous drone with twin machine-gun turrets. Reported areas are the rooftop helipad at DBN Headquarters, NuriGO Mall, NuriGO West, The Grid, Compound Delta along Expressway No. 1, and Cheongun Village. NuriGO West is Medium threat and has a SAM site you can use. The SAM site is the method most people use. Capture the nearby site and hold it for about 30 seconds, and the launcher brings the drone down with one missile. Stay close or enemies will retake it. If you have no site, sustained rifle, LMG or sniper fire from cover works, and armour-piercing ammo helps. Hide under a roof while it passes. The wreck holds Helicopter Piece containers with Prototype RF Module, Biomaterials, a Printed Circuit Board and Volatile Explosives. The Drone Motherboard completes the DEATH FROM ABOVE order objective.
The seven compounds
Community lists give seven compounds with grid references. Six are on Activision's own Tac Map. North Mirae Compound at G4 appears only on the community lists, so we have not pinned it. The tent-and-flag icon on the official map marks the six that are.
| Compound | Grid | On the official map | Reported inside |
|---|---|---|---|
| Compound Alpha | E7 | Yes | A toolbox with a Stock Rod. Schlayer found it already looted. |
| Compound Bravo | F8 | Yes | A safe with Regional Combat Notes. Schlayer found it already looted. |
| Compound Charlie | D4 | Yes | A safe with Infantry Invasion Plans. |
| Compound Delta | H4 | Yes | A safe with Infantry Invasion Plans. A Deathstalker area. |
| Compound Echo | G7 | Yes | The Militia Arms Depot in Gangbyeon Apartment B. |
| Compound Foxtrot | B4 | Yes | Nothing specific reported. |
| North Mirae Compound | G4 | No, community lists only | Nothing specific reported. |
Clearing a compound, and what to loot
To clear one, kill everyone inside, about ten people. A percentage bar on the left fills as you go and 100% means it is cleared. You are paid $500 DMZ Cash at extraction plus XP, and it counts toward the No One Left order. One that another squad has cleared cannot be cleared again. Polygon is reported to have found a wall gap at every compound it cleared, so walk the perimeter before you use the front gate. Some compounds need a key. The keyless open army camps are in the south around Daesong Ridge. Each compound has a safe, and Schlayer says there is a dedicated safe at each one, so you do not even need to fight the people inside. You will also find military bags, caches and sometimes weapon lockers with printer ingredients, plus the odd recipe or weapon manual. The lesson from Schlayer's run is that popular safes get hit early. Both compounds he reached had already been looted. Go first or go elsewhere. Compound Echo's Militia Arms Depot is covered in our secret loot rooms guide.
On the map
The farming layers are switched off until you ask for them. Open the map with them on and you get five layers. Farm runs has five pins: the three Peak Array safes, which we registered by matching Schlayer's tac-map frames to the Official skin, the Deadtown hillside as an area, and the Haneul Nuclear Reactor decontamination area from TheSpazo's weapon manual video. Ingredient spots are now three layers by rarity, Rare, Epic and Legendary: the 15 places the hint names are dashed rings, and credited field reports are small solid rings. Our ingredient locations guide lists them all. Commanders has 13 dashed rings for the reported areas of Colossus, Tank and Deathstalker, including a second Tank ring at the Construction Zone from TheSpazo's solo kill. Every ring is an area, not a surveyed spot, and each card says so. The Routes list on the map also has the Peak Array three-safe route, with video timestamps that open this page at the right step.

What we checked, and where Wing Mait fits
We have not played either run. "Three safes every game", "the safe is on the fourth floor every game" and Eakr's spawn odds are the creators' claims. The ingredient places are the game's own hint as community sites transcribed it. The Commander areas are community reports. The Peak Array pins are accurate to a building. The Deadtown hillside is an area. We left Bubun Yard, Namjjog Station, the electrical substations and the North Korean Wilderness off the map because we cannot place them. The Chang-san hangar, repair bay, armory and barracks share one ring. Patches can change any of this. Everything here is on-screen text: the item cards, the compass, the Boss Board and the extraction summary. Reading that text is what Wing Mait does, so a callout can tell you what a rack or a safe gave you without you looking away. DMZ support is in development, and Wing Mait doesn't read game memory, inject anything or send inputs to the game.
