MW4 DMZ / FIELD NOTES
Season 1 has us hyped for more DMZ and a fresh start in Warzone
We watched two of our favourite creators, JGOD and IceManIsaac, break down Season 1. We agree with the direction they are excited about: more to discover in DMZ and more ways to approach a Warzone match. Here is what has us ready to squad up.

Quick card
- Season
- Season 1 begins 6 November
- DMZ
- More raids, with XO1 on our radar
- Warzone
- Hajin, Zodiac and new tools to learn
We watched our favourites. Now we want to play
DMZ already has us wanting another raid. Watching JGOD and IceManIsaac unpack Season 1 has added a second plan: get the squad together and start Warzone when the new season arrives. We like where both of their takes land. There is plenty to be excited about, and the interesting part is how the new systems might change the decisions we make with our mates. The official Modern Warfare 4 trailer dates Season 1 for 6 November. That is the date we are looking toward.
JGOD: give us more choices during a Warzone match
JGOD's breakdown puts the focus on Hajin and Zodiac, weather variety, interactive cover and new objectives. Ground Ops, Elite Perks and Weapon Augments suggest there will be decisions to make after the first loadout arrives. The Grabber Drone and Zipline Launcher are the sort of tools we want to experiment with together. We agree with the appeal of that direction. More useful choices could make a match interesting even when the squad is still learning the map. A different route, a quick objective or a better way to reposition gives us something to work out as a team. We want to see how those options feel once real squads start using them.

IceManIsaac: DMZ gives us another reason to stay
IceManIsaac brings the DMZ side into the conversation, with XO1 the part that catches our attention most. His breakdown describes a more demanding facility with exploration, new threats and orders to pursue. He is also positive about Rally Point as a lower-pressure place to get familiar with Warzone's new tools. That combination makes sense to us. We want another DMZ destination to learn with the squad, and somewhere to practise before taking unfamiliar equipment into a Warzone fight. We also share the caution in his take: balance, matchmaking and anti-cheat still matter. A strong reveal earns our interest; the matches will tell us how well it all holds together.

The bit we agree on: give the squad something to figure out
What connects these two takes for us is the prospect of more stories coming out of an evening's play. An awkward rotation becomes a zipline experiment. A DMZ plan becomes a decision about whether to push deeper or get the kit home. A new map gives everybody something to learn. Those are the moments we enjoy: making a call, trying it with our mates and finding out whether it works. That is why this reveal has landed with us. We are looking forward to discovering the season together, including the mistakes and the ridiculous plays.
Our Season 1 plan: more DMZ, then jump into Warzone
DMZ stays firmly in the rotation. We want more raids on Hajin and a proper look at XO1 when it becomes available. For Warzone, the plan is to start together, learn the new maps and try the equipment before deciding what suits us. Rally Point sounds like a useful first stop. We are not picking a winning loadout from a trailer or calling the season solved before it launches. We are hyped to play it. More DMZ with the squad, a fresh start in Warzone and plenty of things to test on the next drop is a good place to begin.

This is Wing Mait's pre-launch reaction, combining the supplied breakdowns of JGOD and IceManIsaac with the official trailers. Their videos are linked and embedded so you can hear their full takes in context. Feature references describe the reveal, rather than our own Season 1 hands-on results; rollout details and balance remain for the live game to establish. Wing Mait's DMZ app support remains in development. For now, we will see you on the next drop.
