WARDOGS / FIELD NOTES

FMJ, AP and HP ammo

Pick ammunition for the target you can actually hit. SirSmoken's September tests explain why armour penetration and exposed-limb damage lead to different choices.

FMJ is the flexible starting point

In SirSmoken's AMP-9 9mm firing-range test, FMJ outdamaged AP against unarmoured targets and tier 1 or 2 armour. AP moved ahead at tiers 3 and 4. This is one weapon and calibre in a September build, not a damage table for every gun.

HP needs an exposed hitbox

HP did high damage to uncovered limbs but very little to protected areas. Higher armour tiers also changed which areas counted as exposed. A target behind cover may offer only its head and chest, so the theoretical limb advantage can disappear in an actual fight.

Vehicle results are a separate test

The vehicle comparison used an M249, not the AMP-9. AP destroyed the Little Bird with fewer rounds than FMJ in that test, while HP performed poorly against the Kodiak. Try your intended weapon in the current build before buying a specialised loadout.
