Three factions, one moving zone

WARDOGS puts three merc factions, Lonestar, Manticore and Valkyra, onto a King of the Hill style Control Zone that can hold up to 33 players a side. Whoever has more players standing in the zone when the tick bar fills gets the point, first to 100 wins, and matches regularly run past the hour mark. Inside that zone sits the Hot Zone, a smaller circle that drifts throughout the match and counts every player inside it as two for scoring, so a small squad holding the Hot Zone can outscore a much bigger group sitting on the wider ring.

Cash carries, loadouts do not have to be expensive

Every match hands you $10,000 minimum, and whatever you do not spend rolls into the next one. That makes an expensive first loadout a bad habit rather than a bold one: budget rifles trade the same base damage as their pricier cousins, so a lean early loadout, backed by loose ammo instead of full spare magazines to save backpack space, keeps you funded for the gear that actually matters as the session goes on.

Closed beta status, verify in current build

As of the pre-launch material this page draws from, Early Access was slated for 10 September 2026 at $39.99 standard or $49.99 for the Supporter Edition, reached through a Steam playtest request-access queue or pre-order priority. Beta access routes and pricing are exactly the kind of thing a live build changes without notice, so treat the dates and figures here as historical unless your client confirms them.

Reviving a downed squadmate pays cash and XP, and keeps your team's zone count from dropping.

Getting to the Control Zone fast usually means a vehicle. Losing it to a bad pilot is a common way to lose a loadout early.
