Find cover before pulling the trigger

Choose the nearest place that breaks line of sight, and decide where you will move if the first burst fails. Cross open ground from cover to cover, not in one optimistic dash. Once the enemy has seen an angle, change position rather than presenting your head in the same place twice.

Listen, then loot

Footsteps, shots and nearby openings all bear on whether a body is safe to reach. After a kill, check the surroundings, reload and heal before collecting gear, then take the useful items quickly. A heavier recovered kit also changes how fast you can reach the next piece of cover, which is easy to forget while the loot is still on the floor.

A clean disengagement keeps the kit

When hurt, outnumbered or unsure where the shots came from, break sight, heal and find a better route. After each death, name the decision that exposed you: an open crossing, a repeated peek, rushed looting or an unnecessary chase, because that gives you one specific habit to improve next match.
