WARDOGS / FIELD NOTES

XP tracks: Recon and Driver

WARDOGS levels six role tracks alongside your account level. Recon and Driver are the two the community found fastest to grind in the closed beta, for very different reasons.

Closed beta figures. Verify against your current build before you rely on them.

Recon: spot first, then earn the SKS

Buying Binoculars on drop and hovering over enemies spots them for an immediate Recon XP tick, plus a bonus if that player is killed or dies afterward. The starting sniper rifle is weak enough that it is not worth using for XP, so the community's advice is to keep spotting until Recon level 5 unlocks the SKS, then switch to precision kills. The Monocular at level 2 and the Rangefinder at level 8 both improve spotting range over the base Binoculars. The money farming guide covers how this spotting income stacks up against every other way to make cash, from safest to riskiest.

Driver: the opening two minutes are the densest XP in the match

In the closed beta build, a tactical deployment, delivering one player into the zone, paid $195 and 50 XP, with a further $500 if that player was still alive roughly fifteen seconds later. Almost every player wants to reach the zone and almost nobody wants to drive at the start of a round, so parking a transport at spawn and running one loop repeatedly turns the opening minutes into the single richest XP window for the Driver track. Once that rush dies down, supply runs to a forward operating base keep a vehicle earning, though the beta build did not publish exact payout figures for that phase. The money farming guide lines this up against every other way to make cash, from safest to riskiest.

Picking a track without boxing yourself in

Every action in WARDOGS still feeds your overall account level, and track-specific actions feed both the account level and that track at once, so there is no penalty for switching focus between rounds. The account level and the six tracks it feeds, Assault, Medic, Recon, Support, Driver and Pilot, sit alongside each other rather than competing, which is why a support-minded pilot or a recon-minded driver both work.

A WARDOGS player reviving a downed teammate near a disabled self-propelled gun.
Medic actions like this revive feed the account level and the Medic track at once, separate from the Recon and Driver loops covered here.
A WARDOGS squad pushing forward as a Humvee clears a ridge mid-jump.
Vehicle activity, not kills, is what actually moves the Driver track.
