WARDOGS / FIELD NOTES
WARDOGS solo and duo FOB V3: a sealed base for one or two players
Most FOB advice assumes a squad with a hammer each and a supply drop to spare. This build assumes one or two of you, a stack of supplies and a lot of people who would like your base gone. Wake Up has been refining it since WARDOGS released, taking viewers' comments at each turn, and V3 is the version that answers the loudest complaints. We watched it end to end and wrote it as a build order, with Season 2's price changes set beside the parts.

Quick card
- Built for
- one or two players, not a squad base
- Cost
- about 3,000 build supplies, before Season 2 pricing
- Perimeter
- Bremer walls at half height, Hesco blocks snapped on, one gap until you are inside
- Tower
- recon tower honeycombed in Hesco blocks, Talon 9K-SAM in its own pit
- Mortar
- about 550 metres in every direction
- If you die
- the base is sealed, so you return by transport helicopter and parachute
What V3 is for
The creator opens with the design brief, and every choice later follows from it. This is a solo duo FOB. It is not meant to be a massive main FOB for a squad or the whole team. It has to be quick to set up, secure, cost effective and practical for one or two players to maintain. V3 is the creator's answer to what viewers said was wrong with the earlier versions, in their words some of the glaring issues. The price is about 3,000 build supplies. The supply counter in the footage reads roughly 3,050 at the first wall and roughly 670 by the end of the build. And the base is sealed: once you are inside and the last gap is closed, a death means coming back by transport helicopter and parachute.
The parts
Nothing here is exotic. Bremer walls carry the perimeter at half height, and Hesco blocks in two sizes do the rest: large ones around the tower, small ones for the pits. Add a recon tower, a Talon 9K-SAM, a mortar, a ladder and a door, and sandbags for the finishing touches. The video also mentions a Stinger pit as an alternative to the mortar, and the build takes either. Bring your own supplies. A sealed base is a poor place to find out the pile is empty.

Step one: seal the perimeter
Start with the foundations. Lay Bremer walls at half height around the whole footprint and snap Hesco blocks to them, which gives the raised foundations a proper seal. The trick the creator leans on is layering: one Bremer facing inward, one facing outward, then another facing inward, so that nothing is a single thin slab. Done that way, the walls stop C4 thrown over the top and stop anyone climbing in, even with a vehicle parked alongside. Work round the whole perimeter, build every wall up to full height, and leave exactly one gap, the place you will climb in. Once you are inside, close it.
Step two: honeycomb the recon tower
The recon tower is where the Talon will live, and the complaint the creator names directly is that earlier towers could be punched out. Honeycombing is the answer: surround the tower with layers of Hesco blocks so direct fire cannot reach the structure that matters. Put two large Hescos either side of the doorway, add more around the tower so the coverage overlaps, then wrap the lot in Bremer walls on every side but one, which stays open as your climbing point until you are in. The tower keeps its full field of view and you can still shoot out of it. Close the last side and you are sealed in.

Step three: the mortar pit
The mortar pit uses the same layering as the main wall, Bremers and Hescos together, fully enclosed. Add an extra block to the left of the ladder, and cap the pit with small Hesco blocks. The creator picks the mortar over the Stinger because of what happens in real matches: another team spots you in there, or you cause them enough grief with the Talon, and they start sending shells your way. It is, in the creator's words, equally funny to hop off the Talon and send shells back. The mortar reaches about 550 metres in every direction. That is not its maximum, and it is plenty to answer the people shelling you.
Step four: the Talon pit, built safely
This is the improvement we like most. Instead of standing on top of the structure in the open while you build, place the Talon in the little lip on the door, crouch and walk back on it, and you are hunkered down with cover around you while you finish. Raise the Talon to its working height on four small Hesco blocks, surround the pit with Bremer walls and put more Hesco on the corners. The pit includes drop-down pockets where you can hide from rocket helicopters, Havoc aircraft and grenades. They do more than hide you. From a pocket you can look up and repair the Talon while it is under fire, so a Havoc that sits there drilling your Talon is working for you. Every time they shoot it, you are repairing it.

Moving around inside
The inside is a set of short routes. Drop-down passages link the Talon pit, the mortar pit and the main base, so you can change positions without standing in anything open, and the sealed door between them only lets you through crouched. The recon tower keeps its full view the whole time. One placement rule to know: sandbags go on the small Hesco blocks, not on Bremer walls, at least until Season 2 changes it (see below).
What V3 fixes
The video answers three weak points. The punched-out tower is answered by the honeycomb. C4 over the wall and climbing in are answered by the inward, outward, inward layering. And the exposed moment of placing the Talon is answered by the door lip crouch. The creator names the first complaint directly; the other two are our reading of what the layering and the crouch are for. The creator adds that the build will keep changing as the comments come in, and may get a proper name in place of a number.

Running it solo or duo
This part is our reading of the footage, not a quotation. One player can run everything because every position is a few seconds from the next: the Talon for aircraft, the mortar for ground teams that find you, repairs from the pockets. The live clip at the end shows the Talon doing the work, with the scope view and kill confirmations on screen. With two players the obvious split is one on the Talon and one on the mortar or the repairs, and the ladder and drop-downs make swapping cheap. That is what lets two people hold a base that looks like it wants a squad.
Season 2: what the parts cost after the patch
The footage predates Season 2, and the patch notes preview (as read out by BigfryTV on 9 October; final notes come later) changes the price of several parts of this build. A Bremer wall goes from 15 to 32 supplies, a door from 22 to 250 and a mortar emplacement from 150 to 800. Mortar restock cost doubles and the new loading animation lowers its rate of fire. The Talon reloads in 5 seconds instead of 2 and costs four times as much to restock, and hammers build more slowly. One change helps: sandbags and barbed wire become placeable on Bremer walls, which this video says is not possible today. Season 2 starts on 15 October. We have not rebuilt V3 at the new prices, so treat the 3,000 figure as pre-patch and expect the walls to be where it hurts.
| Part | Now | Season 2 preview |
|---|---|---|
| Bremer wall (supplies) | 15 | 32 |
| Door (supplies) | 22 | 250 |
| Mortar emplacement (supplies) | 150 | 800 |
| Talon reload | 2 seconds | 5 seconds |
| Talon restock cost | current | four times current |
| Mortar restock cost | current | double |

Price it before you place it
V3 is a good answer for two players with a day's supplies. After Season 2 it is a good answer for two players with a bigger day's supplies, so decide before you start whether you build the whole set or stage it, the perimeter and tower first and the mortar when the pile allows. That staging is our suggestion, not the creator's, and the sealed design means the first stage has to be finished before it protects anything. Wing Mait: always eyes on.
