MW4 DMZ / FIELD NOTES

MW4 DMZ farming: the Chang-san bunker run in under five minutes, from TheGigaDad's Short (patched)

TheGigaDad's three-minute Short names what he calls the best farming method in Modern Warfare 4 DMZ: queue Operation Iron Citadel solo, slip into Chang-san Air Base, drop down through Admin Complex No. 2, open the bunker door with a Door Breacher Charge and loot the weapon lockers, then leave by the final exfil. Watch his Short first: it is the source, embedded just below. This page is the organised companion to it, with the steps in order, the loot we could read on screen and the building pinned on our Hajin map. Where a claim is his, we say so.

MW4 DMZ farming: the Chang-san bunker run in under five minutes, from TheGigaDad's Short (patched)

Quick card

Method
Operation Iron Citadel, solo, to the weapon lockers in the Chang-san Air Base bunker
What it farms
Cash, XP and rare loot such as weapon manuals and gold backpacks (his claims); on screen: weapons, a 3D Printer recipe and 90 to 360 XP popups
You need
A Door Breacher Charge in a secure slot; the Final Intel and Expedited Extraction traits help but are optional
Time
Under five minutes a run, and 300K to 500K an hour if you go for gold (his figures)
Status
Patched on 25 October 2026: the Door Breacher Charge no longer works as the keycard for the bunker door, so this run no longer works

Watch his Short first

TheGigaDad made this run, and his Short is the primary source: the route, the narration and the loot are all in his three minutes. Use this page as the companion to it. We follow his order, add the on-screen details we could read, link our Hajin map and our other Chang-san guides, and mark which statements are his. If the run helps you, watch the Short again while you play it, and follow his channel.

The method in one line

Queue Operation Iron Citadel with Squad Fill off, reach the fence line of Chang-san Air Base, slip in on the north-west side and glide down from a peak, go through the front doors of Admin Complex No. 2, drop down to the bunker, open the locked door with a Door Breacher Charge, loot the weapon lockers and crates in the Leader's Secure Bunker, then leave by the final exfil. He says a run takes less than five minutes, and that the lockers are the whole point.

Before you queue: traits, the mission and going solo

He suggests two traits, Final Intel and Expedited Extraction. On screen, Final Intel reads "Final exfil marked on the Tac Map from the start" and Expedited Extraction reads "Extractions arrive much faster". He says neither is necessary, but they make the run quicker. Then queue the Operation Iron Citadel story mission with Squad Fill off, so you are solo and the loot is yours. The deploy screen shows it beside Operation Fallen Ember, and his operator screen reads South Korean SF. He says the story mission puts you in your own instance, so you are extremely unlikely to meet other players, and that you don't even need a weapon. A caution from our side: in our IceMan tips guide, IceManIsaac found that a free loadout still deploys your own operator, and that dying with it cost him about $100,000. His no-weapon claim doesn't tell us what dying would cost your operator here, and we haven't tested it. Squad Fill off is the same advice as tip 16 in that guide.

Step 1: the fence line, the bush and the peak

Once you spawn, he says, sprint forward until you hit the fence line of Chang-san Air Base, then run north-west along it until you reach a bush and a tree, and slide through. If you have a parachute, run up to the tip of the peak and glide down to the spot he shows; without one he says you will have to climb the slow way. On screen the compass reads Chang-san Air Base with a CRITICAL threat tag from the fence line on, with headings from north-west to west (NW 332, W 288) while he follows the wall. A helipad comes into view at about 0:57 and the Cut Parachute prompt appears at about 1:02. B-Man's route, which uses the same mission, lands you in the woods south of the base and goes in by the south-east wall, so this is the other side of the base. We haven't pinned the bush, the tree or the peak: the clip has a compass but no minimap.

Step 2: the front doors of Admin Complex No. 2, then the drop

Go in through the front entrance and run through the doors, skipping the enemies, he says. A banner reads "ADMIN COMPLEX NO. 2, THREAT: CRITICAL" at 1:08, and soldiers are visible in the hall. Run through a door and jump all the way down: he says the fall won't break your legs. A Deploy Parachute prompt shows in the stairwell at about 1:18. Then run through a set of double doors. At 1:26 the compass changes to Chang-san Air Base Bunker with an EXTREME threat tag, which matches the bunker sub-area on our Hajin map. Pin 1 is Admin Complex No. 2, the stronghold on Activision's map and the building the footage shows him entering, accurate to the building. How far the bunker runs under the base isn't shown, so we haven't pinned it.

Step 3: the Door Breacher Charge and the bunker door

This is his key tip. If you have a Door Breacher Charge, put it in a secure slot. For whatever reason, he says, it opens the access-card door without being used up, so you keep it and can use it again. The item card reads "DOOR BREACHER CHARGE, Ultra, Key, $100: A single-use tool to breach locked doors". At 1:32 the door prompt reads "Requires Supreme Leader's Bunker Access Card", and at 1:34 the door opens with "360 XP" and "DOOR UNLOCKED" on screen. We saw the door open, but not his inventory afterwards, so "not used up" is his claim. A viewer asked where to find a breacher charge. Our level unlocks guide lists Door Breacher Charge as an Ultra Consumable unlock at level 62, and we haven't found another source.

A top-down map of Chang-san Air Base on the Hajin map with a Wing Mait pin numbered 1 on Admin Complex No. 2, next to the diamond marker for the base, and the curved base perimeter around it.
Base map: Activision Hajin Tac Map, Official skin of the Wing Mait Hajin map. Pin 1: Wing Mait, on Activision's Admin Complex No. 2 stronghold, the building TheGigaDad enters. Accurate to the building. The bunker below it and the exfil are not pinned.

Step 4: the weapon lockers and crates in the Leader's Secure Bunker

From 1:40 the compass reads Leader's Secure Bunker. He says you could go ham looting here, but he heads for the weapon lockers, which he calls insanely broken: he says they have given him gold backpacks, weapon manuals and the rarest items in the game. We didn't see a gold backpack or a manual in this clip. One viewer says they found a large secure bag blueprint there the day before; we can't verify that. Here is what the item cards showed on screen. The weapon cards carry an unlock counter, for example "50 /68 UNLOCKS" on the Mosin-Nagant. We don't know exactly how it fills; his longer video, which the Short links as "How to Unlock ALL Weapons in DMZ FAST!", is the place to ask.

Items we could read in TheGigaDad's Short, in the order they appear, with the video time.

Step 5: out by the final exfil

All you do now, he says, is run out. If you have Final Intel, a final exfil usually spawns near the base and you can hit that; otherwise take any exfil close to you and get out with your loot. His Tac Map at 2:24 shows an exit marker just north of the base beside the road, and another near the 14th Political Prison. Exfils move between matches, so we haven't pinned one. Keep your best item in a secure slot and don't linger: loot only counts if you extract.

What he says it pays, and what the screen shows

His figures: under five minutes a run, and probably 300K to 500K an hour if you go purely for gold, or you can chase weapon manuals instead. Those are his estimates, not numbers we measured. On screen, the clip shows 360 XP for the door, 90 and 180 XP popups at the containers he opens, a 3D Printer recipe and weapons priced from $300 to $1,000 on their cards. Real income depends on loot luck and on how many loops you fit in.

How this fits with our other Chang-san guides

B-Man's loot route uses the same mission and the same base, but stays above ground: the south-east wall gap, three loot blocks and the exfil by the river. TheGigaDad goes the other way, through Admin Complex No. 2, the large building that route uses as its landmark, and down. Together they cover both halves of Chang-san Air Base on our map: the exterior, rated Critical, and the bunker, rated Extreme. Our secret loot rooms guide shows another key-gated way to better loot on Hajin, and our 3D printer recipes page lists the recipes the lockers can pay out.

What we haven't confirmed

We haven't re-tested this run. It follows TheGigaDad's footage and narration on the early-access build. Whether it still works. One of the four comments on the Short says it may be patched (they tried it the night before and it didn't work). We can't tell. The breacher charge not being used up is his observation, not something we saw. How good the lockers are. "Insanely broken", the gold backpacks and manuals, and the hourly income are his; we read one Uncommon rifle, one Common shotgun and one legendary weapon he calls a set spawn. That you are unlikely to meet other players in the story mission is his experience. Where the bush, tree and peak are, and how far the bunker runs. The Leader's Secure Bunker isn't in our map data yet. Prices and counters are early-access numbers and may change.

Why this matters for Wing Mait

This run is a chain of on-screen text: the compass name changes from Chang-san Air Base to Admin Complex No. 2 to Chang-san Air Base Bunker to Leader's Secure Bunker, the threat tag steps from CRITICAL to EXTREME, the door prompt says what it needs and "DOOR UNLOCKED" says you are through, and the XP popups confirm a container was looted. That is the kind of text Wing Mait reads so it can speak up for you while your eyes stay on the room. Wing Mait for MW4 DMZ is in development. It is a tactical voice system that watches the screen only: it doesn't read game memory, inject anything or send inputs to the game.

Method and claims: TheGigaDad, "BEST FARMING METHOD IN MW4 DMZ" (YouTube Short, 24 October 2026), 2 minutes 58 seconds. The wording is ours, paraphrased from a speech-to-text pass over his audio and checked against his footage; item names, prices, XP popups and compass text are as shown on screen, and times are into the Short. Viewer comments were read on 25 October 2026 and are unverified. Pin 1 comes from the building he enters, named on screen, and Activision's stronghold record. Please watch his Short and follow his channel. Thank you to TheGigaDad for sharing the run.
