MW4 DMZ patch notes: cash rewards up and loadout fixes (29 Oct)

Infinity Ward's 29 October 2026 update raises DMZ cash rewards and fixes a run of loadout, exfil and Order bugs. We read the official notes, WhosImmortal's walkthrough and every DMZ guide and Hajin route on this site, and we say below what changed, what did not, and which of our pages now carry a notice. His video is embedded just below, so please watch it. We have not tested the update in game.

The short version

Infinity Ward posted a Modern Warfare 4 update on 29 October 2026. For DMZ the headline is what the notes call a slight economy adjustment: the cash you are paid for Dynamic Ops, Side Ops and Story Mission replays goes up. No amounts are given. The rest of the DMZ list is bug fixes: Free Loadout could not be picked when your Stash was full, enemy helicopters could crash into the Exfil helicopter, Lieutenant Towers could lack their prompt during Side Operations, squad actions were not counting toward Mastery Camo progress, and the Scavenger could detect you the moment you deployed. The notes again say several exploits were closed, and name none of them. We checked every DMZ guide and Hajin route on the site against the official notes. Three pages describe behaviour that changed, two carry a part that may be affected and is untested, four are related notes, and no route had to be retired. Our guide to the 28 October update is still the place for the Possum rework. Everything below is official text or a named creator's opinion, and none of it was tested by us.

How to read this page

The official source is Infinity Ward's patch notes page for Modern Warfare 4 on callofduty.com, which keeps one dated block per update. This page follows the 29 October block, the newest on the page when we read it on 31 October. The page prints no version number and lists no known issues in this block. WhosImmortal's video is a creator's walkthrough of the same update. Where he gives an opinion, a reading of a vague line or something the official notes do not say, we say it is his. One thing he raises, a change to DMZ matchmaking for Story Mission replays, is not in the notes we read, so we report it as his and unconfirmed.

The economy adjustment

The notes say cash rewarded is increased for three things: Dynamic Ops, Side Ops and Story Mission replays. That is all they say. There is no table of old and new payouts, no percentage and no cap, so we cannot tell you how much more a run pays. WhosImmortal reads it as part of a push toward more PvP in Story Mission replays, because he says the matchmaking for replays changed the night before and the replays now pay more. That is his reading. He also relays a social media post suggesting a morning hotfix reset the Story Mission lobbies, and says himself that he cannot confirm it and that Infinity Ward had said nothing. We have not verified either claim.

What it does to advice on this site

Two of our pages quote or imply payouts. Our Dynamic Operations trailer breakdown reports a payout of $10,000 to $20,000 to the Bank per completed Dynamic Op, read off the pre-release deploy screen, and TheSpazo's solo Dynamic Ops run reports results from before the raise. Both now carry a dated notice. Treat any cash figure from before 29 October as a floor, not as today's rate. We do not know whether the Bank limit, the supply drops or the XP changed, because the notes say nothing about them. If you time a run, the useful numbers are cash per Dynamic Op, per Side Op and per replay.

Every DMZ item in the 29 October notes

One row per DMZ line in the official notes, in the order they appear, with the DMZ lines listed under Global and Recently updated at the end.

What the notes do not mention

No change is listed for loot tables, key spawns, Lieutenants, Commanders, extraction points, vendor prices, 3D Printer recipes, ingredient drops or DMZ weapon tuning. That is not proof that nothing changed. The notes list only what Infinity Ward chose to list. So the Hajin map, the keys layer, the ingredient rings and the loot route data keep the confidence levels they had. If a creator shows a spawn that moved or a route that no longer works, we will mark it from that evidence and not from the notes' silence.

Multiplayer and global changes, briefly

Possession, a Halloween party mode, joins the playlist. In Multiplayer, XP earn rates go up across several modes that the notes do not name, and a set of fixes covers Lithium, Concussion Grenades, the Domination scoreboard, Silkworm, Shipment callouts and Mumbai. Globally there are stability fixes and menu fixes for Calling Cards and the Inflation After Action Report. For exact wording, read the official notes. The official Season 1 blog says Season 1 goes live at midnight Eastern on 6 November.

WhosImmortal's take

WhosImmortal covered the update the day after the notes, reading them with commentary. He calls the Free Loadout fix for a full Stash an important one. On the economy change he links the extra cash to the Story Mission replay queues, as above, and says plainly that he cannot confirm the lobby rumour. On the bug fixes he reads the Mastery Camo line as meaning that a squad extracting with two Lieutenant tags should now both track toward camo progress, which is his guess because the notes are not specific. He reads the Scavenger line as a spawn trap fix. He finds the exfil helicopter line funny and says he would be furious if it happened to him. He also notes that the Level 37 vest is not given back to players who passed the level, and that Infinity Ward is working on it. He says Halloween modes are live, and that a second mode, Infected, follows; the official block lists only Possession.

What this changes on our map and guides

We went through every DMZ guide and every route on the Hajin map, including the newest pages: the ingredient locations guide and its rarity layers, the keys directory and key pins, the loot routes hub, 3D printer farming and recipes, and the Irradiated Container guides. Nothing was retired: we retire a route only on official notes or clear evidence, and there is none. Where a page describes behaviour that changed, it now carries a dated notice. Where a part may be affected and we cannot tell, it says untested.

What we checked, and where Wing Mait fits

We read the official notes and the video and compared them with our own pages. We did not play the update. Nothing in the notes redesigns the DMZ HUD, but they touch several on-screen things that a screen reader cares about: the Progression Track in the FOB, Lieutenant Tower prompts, the Free Loadout button, Order markers and the exfil helicopter. Higher payouts also change what a cash callout is worth. Reading on-screen text is what Wing Mait does. DMZ support is in development, and Wing Mait doesn't read game memory, inject anything or send inputs to the game.

A status card listing our DMZ pages checked against the 29 October update: the Dynamic Ops guides and level unlocks affected, the bosses guides that may be affected, four related notes, the Chang-san bunker run already patched, and everything else with no change found.
